DESCRIPTION:D-Day history will come to life as we go back in time to World War II! \nCome encounter costumed interpreters who tell tales of the war: workers on the homefront at local factories; members of Eisenhower’s staff who helped plan the invasion; liberated French residents; and the soldiers\, sailors\, and airmen who landed on the beaches of Normandy on June 6\, 1944. \nWWII era encampments will be scattered throughout the grounds and WWII veterans will be on hand to share their personal experiences in the war. \nRegular admission fees apply. \nContact the Memorial’s Education Department at (540) 586-3329 ext. 111 or education@dday.org for more information.

A drive-through drop-off at the education building will be available for strollers and wheelchairs. \nEvening participants will enter at 1844 Woods Rd and exit through Cloverlea gate. The entrance at Cloverlea gate will be CLOSED to incoming traffic. \nBring your picnic baskets\, lawnchairs\, blankets\, hats\, and sunscreen and stay for awhile! We’ve got plenty of places and activities for you to enjoy! **Firearms are prohibited.
