SUMMARY:Fighting Among the People
DESCRIPTION:World War Wednesday is an opportunity to explore the connections of World War II over time and space every other Wednesday in July and August of 2020. Each lecture will feature a different museum providing insight into these connections to World War II throughout history. \nLearn more about how U.S. military forces worked with civilians in the Pacific during World War II and in Iraq and Afghanistan during “Fighting Among the People” with Dr. Clay Mountcastle\, the Director of the Virginia War Memorial in Richmond\, Virginia. He is also a retired U.S. Army officer whose military service took him to Germany\, South Korea and Iraq on assignments with the 82nd Airborne Division\, U.S. Army 5th Corps and U.S. Army Special Operations Command. \nThis lecture will be available live on Facebook Live. The reminder button and video will be shared to this event. The recording will be available to view following the conclusion of the lecture on the National D-Day Memorial’s Facebook page under Videos.
