SUMMARY:Festival of Trees
DESCRIPTION:Festival of Trees at the Bedford Area Welcome Center is an annual event that takes place around the end of November through the first week of January. “Christmas Through The Decades” is the theme for this year. The event will feature trees that are decorated by local businesses and organizations. Visitors are encouraged to come by the Welcome Center and vote for their favorite tree(s) for only $1.00/vote. At the conclusion of the event\, all proceeds will benefit the charitable organizations designated by the businesses.  There are no winners and no losers of this event\, everyone has an equal opportunity to raise money for their selected charity and they will keep whatever amount they raise. The Festival of Trees is a festive family friendly event to celebrate the season while helping causes important to the community.

SUMMARY:Colored Pencil Exhibit at Bower Center
DESCRIPTION:Come visit this free exhibit or click here to see it virtually. \nJennifer Phillips Carpenter\, originally from Bridgewater VA\, has over 35 years of experience working with colored pencil. Her interest in art was encouraged throughout her youth and she graduated from Bridgewater College with a BA in art. \nFrustration when trying painting during her college years lead to her independent colored pencil study in 1986 … she had found her niche! In 1990 she became a charter member of the Colored Pencil Society of America. \nJennifer uses the finest\, most permanent and light-fast colored pencils in the world to create her works of art\, but like most colored pencil artists\, got her start with Prismacolors and still uses them on occasion. No solvents are used; multiple layers of color are applied to achieve the desired effect. As many as 15-20 layers may be required.
