DESCRIPTION:Join Jump into Mystery on Saturday 6/8/24 at 6pm for a wine themed whodunnit at Ramulose Ridge Vineyards in Moneta\, VA. This will be an interactive murder mystery event where you will play a character\, solve clues\, and interrogate all of the suspects. You will laugh\, talk\, and drink. In the end you will decide who committed the crime using your detective skills. Tickets are $35 per person. Tickets do not include food or alcohol. Ramulose Ridge Vineyards will have cheese/snacks and wine for sale. You are welcome to bring your own food into the venue. This event will be indoors\, in the tasting room. Everyone will get their character role at the event. Everyone in your group will need a separate ticket to attend and tickets are non-refundable. This is an adults only event and will last from 6pm until 9pm. Please arrive between 5:30pm and 5:45pm to check in and grab a beverage\, as the game will start at 6pm.

DESCRIPTION:Join Poplar Forest’s Department of Archaeology and Landscapes every Friday at 1:30 PM  through August 30 for an in-depth look into their current excavations and what they are learning about the people who lived in and around the 1857 Slave Dwelling. While the 1857 Slave Dwelling was built after Jefferson’s lifetime\, it is historically important as it is the only original dwelling built for enslaved people still standing on the property. As part of the 1857 Slave Dwelling Restoration Project’s efforts to stabilize\, research\, and restore this structure with the community\, we invite you to visit our archaeologists to see what they are finding and learning about the people who lived here. \nFriday Field Days are included with regular admission which can be purchased in advance here. Admission to the property includes either a docent-guided or self-guided tour of Jefferson’s retreat home\, access to exhibits in the lower level and wing of offices of the villa retreat\, and outdoor exhibits throughout the property.

As always\, you can expect a huge variety of baked goods made by our wonderful volunteers. From 12:30 PM to 2 PM Riverside veterinary hospital will be hosting a rabies clinic (also at the Bedford County animal shelter) in the overflow parking lot. The clinic will be driving through style. Rabies vaccinations will be $8 cash or check. 3 year vaccinations are available with proof of prior vaccination.\n \nAll proceeds benefit Friends of Bedford County Animal Shelter! Come out and support us so that we can continue to assist the shelter pets along with the fosters in need! \n
