SUMMARY:Paint n Play Found Objects at the Bower Center
DESCRIPTION:Paint ‘n Play Found Objects\, Preschool Age + Up \nPine cones\, shells\, leaves\, pipe cleaners\, bottle caps and more\, oh my! Little ones will learn to how to stamp\, create patterns and make interesting marks with washable finger paints during this guided creative play session. Grown-ups welcome. Come\, grab an apron\, have fun and make beautiful pictures together.\nAn adult guardian must be present at all times. Adults must directly supervise all children 4 and under\, and assist children with clean-up. Younger children may participate with finger painting. Wear washable clothing. \nInstructor Shirl Sazynski has taught arts\, writing and creativity classes to adults\, teenagers and children through the University of Mexico\, Albuquerque Public Libraries\, Shelburne Craft School in Vermont and Louisville Visual Art. Her award-winning creative work and nonfiction has been published throughout multiple venues\, including National Public Radio. Ms.Sazynski holds a B.A. in Narrative Through the Arts from Hollins University and studied Sequential Art (illustration and comics) at the Savannah College of Art and Design. •

DESCRIPTION:Gather\, relax\, meet new friends\, and share in creating a beautiful torn-paper blueberry. You will complete an 8″x8″ blueberry on a white background. ALL materials are provided\, but you’re welcome to bring personal your papers with handwriting\, words\, quotes\, names or places that will add meaning to your artwork. When you arrive\, your wooden panel will already be painted\, and all papers and glues provided. We will share a paper-painting demonstration\, and then you’ll spend the rest of the class time completing your blueberry artwork. Absolutely no experience or creativity is needed. While we can’t eat the paper\, we will share a delish blueberry treat. \nInstructor Jane Barefoot Rochelle Arts is a studio artist at The Bower Center\, and a native of Bedford. After living in Raleigh for 13 years\, she is most happy to be back home\, spending time with old friends and meeting new ones. A life-long creative spirit\, she enjoys nature\, music\, spending time with her family\, and creating images with torn paper! She delights in special orders for her clients\, with a specialty in pet portraits. Contact her for more information.
