Smores 101!\nWhether you are a casual hiker\, weekend warrior\, or serious outdoorsmen\, live in the country or the city\, these soft and hard skills are universal to survive and thrive in any given scenario\, whether it be just daily living\, recreational camping\, or wilderness survival.\nWe will meet at the Falling Creek Bike Park in Bedford. Enter Falling Creek park across from the sheriffs office\, at the roundabout take a left and at the end of the road is the bike park in a gravel parking lot. You will see a shelter and our fire ring will be just past it.\nThe session will start at 6:00pm\, feel free to come early and eat dinner and explore the park beforehand.\nSome of the topics we will cover:\nFire Safety\nFuel Sources\nFire Foundations\nSite Location\nWarmth vs. Cooking\nStarting Methods\nPrimitive Fire Methods\nFire for Signaling\nSmores!\nWe will provide some handouts with helpful information as well.\nThis session is led by Lee Wittekind\, Bedford Co. Bring your friends and family\, a picnic and a blanket or chairs\, and experience a little-known but important part of Poplar Forest’s history brought to life. \nPerformances are May 24th and 25th at 6:30 p.m. each night. Rain date May 26th. $20/adult (18+)\, $10 for youth ages 6-17 and college students (with valid ID)\, $5 for children under 6. \nClick here for tickets.
