SUMMARY:Family Hike at Falling Creek Park
DESCRIPTION:This is a family friendly hike that will start at the Bike Park at Falling Creek. When you get to the roundabout go left where the sign points to “pumptrack/bike park”. The hike will be about 2 miles consisting of easy singletrack trail and grass paths with the option to go further. Bring hiking shoes\, appropriate clothing\, snacks\, and water. A backpack or bag is helpful to carry supplies. There will be some drinks/snacks provided. Dogs welcome but must be on leash. If you have bicycles bring them to the bike park to ride afterwards\, its tons of fun!

DESCRIPTION:Come out to Falling Creek Bike Park for Wheels and Beale’s! Go on a beginner\, intermediate\, or advanced group ride\, compete in some fun bike games\, demo rad bikes from local bike shops\, take hot laps on the jump line\, play yard games\, check out the skatepark\, go disc golfing\, try some local brews\, listen to live music\, and camp out for the night!  \nThere are 16 spots with fire rings and there is a 1 vehicle limit per campsite for $5. If you need extra vehicles or space then there will be camping in the field with no fire ring for FREE. Bring the whole family! Camping is Friday and Saturday night.  \nThe Tortoise and Hare race is a two person team race where one person\, the “Tortoise” track stands on their bike in the marked zone with the other tortoise’s for up to 60 seconds while their partner\, the “Hare”\, races around a short course on a kids bike against all the other hares for up to 60 seconds (4 teams at a time). If the Tortoise puts their foot down then the Hare is finished. If all the tortoises make it the full 60 seconds then the Hare in the lead with the most laps wins! (Kids bikes will be provided. The other 50% of the course will consist of mixed surfaces such as grass paths\, gravel or pavement\, and double track dirt roads. The “cross” parts refers to the multiple styles of racing and mixed terrain the race combines being a combination of mountain biking and cyclocross. There are mandatory barriers that must be dismounted for\, a staggered start\, and the equalizer format. When combined these different riding styles and elements make what we call Mountain Cross. The races are short\, intense\, and loads of fun! These are great training races if you have your eye on some other races coming in the Spring/Summer . This is also a great if you have a new years resolution\, want to stay active during the cold months\, or just want bragging rights!
