Elmo’s Rest at Peak’s of Otter Winery

Elmo’s Rest nestled at the bottom of the Blue Ridge parkway is a sixth generation family farm begun in 1918.  In addition to the accommodations provided in an original two story farm house with modern conveniences; there is much more to the experience of being on a true working farm.  Dependent upon the season you may observe cultivating, planting, and harvesting of many crops.  Some you may enjoy picking for your enjoyment such as asparagus, blackberries, plums, cherries, peaches and apples. You may taste and buy the jams and jellies made from farm produce and sold here on premises in our farm store.  Twenty years ago, we started making fruit wines from our crops and provide tastings and sales of more than 30 wines. You may view more than 100 animals grazing pastures and being fed and nurtured.  Children of all ages enjoy feeding corn to the chickens and never tire of gathering the fresh eggs.  Fishing, sitting by the firepit, grilling, relaxing under the sun covered patio are places to enjoy the company of friends and family.
