The Sedalia Center Country Fair & Gathering will mark its 26th year on Saturday, September 1, 2018, Labor Day weekend, with its unique gathering together of the skills and pastimes that comprise rural life.
The Fair runs from 10am – 4pm. Admission is $5, and especially relevant to this child-centered event, children 12 years and under are admitted free.
Features include the Southern Virginia Draft Horse Show, presented by the Bedford Equine Association, and sheep herding exhibitions by Gladys, VA master herding dog trainer Roy Johnson. The outdoor pavilion will again stable gentle cows, horses, ponies, sheep, and goats. The Future Farmers of America of Liberty High School will showcase their animals, hosting halter classes and the always popular Poultry Show — lots of beautiful animals and big, fluffy chickens.
Local canners and bakers are invited to bring their home made and preserved products for the food contests, which also include eggs, fresh produce, and flower arrangement categories.
