History Lovers Friday at the Bedford Area Welcome Center
- This event has passed.
May 11, 2018 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
Join us at the Welcome Center as we celebrate National Travel & Tourism Week! Every destination has a story to tell about its unique offerings, and NTTW is a great opportunity to showcase some of what Bedford has to offer. On May 11, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., a representative from Poplar Forest will demo colonial games and talk about archeological objects, and a re-enactor with the National D-Day Memorial will be on-hand with artifacts and information on upcoming events. We’ll also have information about the Civil War Trail.
The Welcome Center/Dept of Tourism will also have a table with the chance to win a prize as well as learn about volunteer opportunities. We’ll also have a drawing for a chance to win free admission passes to the National D-Day Memorial!
This is free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to bring a lunch and enjoy the outdoor picnic area behind the Welcome Center (there’s a great view of the Peaks!) Please stop by and see what’s going on in Bedford!
Destination Bedford offers big, bold and unforgettable experiences. You’ll see stunning beauty in the Blue Ridge Mountains and hear stories of bravery that will take your breath away at the National D-Day Memorial.
