Recurring Event Event Series: Program at Claytor Nature Center

January 10, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

The focus of this program is what animals eat in the winter! In Virginia, winters are cold, and food is scarce. Learn how our local wildlife adapt and overcome by preparing caches for leaner months.
This is a self-guided program in which you will complete a passport given to you at the beginning of your adventure by our staff. Participants will take to the trail system to find the question stations that correspond with their passports. Activities are geared towards elementary students, but there are a mix of easy and challenging questions to keep students of all ages engaged, as well as parents! At the end of your adventure, return your passport to the staff at check-in to check your answers and receive a certificate and prize based on the level of completeness!
Arrive anytime between 9am and 3pm and plan on the activity taking 1-2 hours to complete.
For more information on what to expect or how to register, check out our calendar/registration page here: https://lynchburg.libcal.com/calendar/Claytor
Cost is $7 per person.
