Mariners Landing Country Club is hosting the inaugural Simmons Golf Tournament Pro-Am! Each team of three amateurs will have the incredible opportunity to play alongside a professional golfer or top collegiate player.

 

Come out and be part of this historic event—whether you’re playing, supporting a team, or just enjoying a great day of watching golf. This is a rare opportunity to watch talented professionals compete alongside passionate amateurs right here at MLCC. Gather your friends and family, soak in the action, and cheer on the players as they take on our beautiful course. You won’t want to miss this exciting day of competition and community!

Community & Public Viewing schedule:

• 10:30 – 10:50 – Introduction of Pros
• 11:00 – 11:50 – Driving range and practice area open to participants
• 12:00 – Tournament begins – shotgun start
• 5:00 or (immediately following play) – Awards

 

Meet the Professionals Competing:

Zach Barbin – PGA Professional from Elkton, MD. Played at Liberty University. Winner of the 2024 Philadelphia Assistants Championship and runner-up at the 2024 Maryland Open.

Connor Burgess – Lynchburg, VA native and Virginia Tech alum. Achieved five professional wins and competed on the 2024 Korn Ferry Tour.

Austin Duncan – Former Liberty University player from Gastonia, NC. Holds five professional wins and finished 2nd on the GPro Tour points list in 2024.

Alex Fuchs – Originally from France, Fuchs played at Liberty University and won two collegiate events. He has three years of experience on the Canadian Tour and Challenge Tour and has caddied on the LIV Tour.

Charlie Hanson – Richmond, VA native and Virginia Tech alum. Turned pro in May 2024. Winner of the 2021 Myrtle Beach Amateur and holds the course record (61) at the Eastern Amateur.

Ike Joy – Denver, NC native playing at Liberty University. A Conference USA (CUSA) champion, he recorded two top-10 finishes in Fall 2024.

Dick Mast – PGA Tour lifetime member from Lynchburg, VA. Has played in over 650 PGA Tour-sanctioned events and competed in a Champions Tour event at age 73.

Jacob Mast – Lynchburg, VA native and Class A PGA Professional. Winner of the 2022 MAPGA Southern Chapter Championship.

Josh Ryan – Pennsylvania native currently playing at Liberty University. Named 2024 Conference USA Player of the Year and 2023 ASUN Freshman of the Year.

Isaac Simmons – Huddleston, VA native and former Liberty University standout. Competed in the 2023 U.S. Open, turned pro in June 2024, and already has three top-3 finishes in professional events.

Kieran Vincent – From Harare, Zimbabwe, Vincent played at Liberty University, was an NCAA All-American, and has competed on the PGA Tour Canada and the Asian Tour.

Course Closure & Spectators Welcome!

 

The course will be closed all day for the tournament, but we encourage spectators to come out and watch! This is a fantastic opportunity to see top talent compete right here at Mariners Landing.
