From Here to Over There: Women in World War II
Take a virtual visit to the U.S. Army Women’s Museum (AWM) at Fort Lee, VA in a special Lunchbox Lecture for Women’s History Month. The AWM is the only museum in the world dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of women in the Army. Curator Tracy Bradford will give a behind the scenes and detailed look at how the museum collects and interprets Army women’s history, concentrating on the experiences of two women in particular who answered their nation’s call during World War II. Sgt. Dorothy Wise, Women’s Army Corps, and Lt. Peggy Greenwalt, Army Nurse Corps, have amazing personal narratives that are representative of the hundreds of thousands of women who served during this time—we all need to hear their stories.
