Butterfly Field Farm is an animal rescue sanctuary that adopts and rescues animals to give them a
full and happy life!
When visiting the gorgeous Butterfly Field Farm, I was overwhelmed with what this family has done with 12 acres of rolling hills. They work tirelessly to take care of all of their current residents and keep an open mind to accepting new ones that need a home. When asked what will happen if they reach full capacity, the owner said they will try to buy more land so they can save more.
The farm was founded in 2019 and is located in Bedford County with amazing views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The owners of this farm became aware of the growing problem of animals being neglected, abused, or abandoned. They decided to step up and save as many animals as they possibly can. The owners and their twin girls spend every evening playing and bonding with the animals as a family. They believe in a vegan lifestyle and that all beings should be treated with care, compassion, and respect.
With over 40 animals on the farm, you can find chickens, rabbits, pigs, donkeys, cows, horses, goats, sheep, cats, and dogs. Each animal the family has named, saved, and provided a new home so they can continue to live the life they deserve to have.
Volunteers are welcome as there is always something that needs to be done, even to just spend time loving on some of the animals. Volunteering your time is appreciated but donating food, money and other items is just as important. The family recognizes that their donors are the heroes of this organization.
Visiting hours are most weekday evenings and all day on Saturdays and Sundays. They ask that you call ahead to plan your visit.
